Position Summary:

 

The Design Liaison Associate will be responsible for working closely with key design community and specification stakeholders within a given market area supporting design and specification of The Senator Groups brands, both Allermuir and Senator.  As such, you will travel to client locations in the Baltimore | DC MSA to build and foster relationships through product presentations and industry events tailored to the specific interest of clients. The Design Liaison works within a sales and marketing team, including our Territory Sales Representative, to help grow our brand recognition and sales opportunities through thoughtful planning and passionate execution of the strategies directed toward a broad range of commercial end-users, design professionals and or distribution partners.  The ideal candidate will be confident, enthusiastic, a very well-informed communicator with a strong record of accomplishments and successful history of project involvement. A degree in textiles and/or interior design is preferred with a minimum of 5 years of sales experience.

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Develops a strong networking discipline in getting meaningfully connected to all designer and specifiers and or influencer groups.
  • Provides information to assist potential and existing clients with general product and application information and engages in relationship in an effort to build and maintain a high-quality service reputation.
  • Reads and understands project-specific drawings to offer pre-order office design assistance for Senator Group products to clients; utilizes Computer Aided Design (CAD), CET (Canvas), SketchUp or similar software to assist clients in this process.
  • Assists with showroom tours and walk-in guests, at both our dealer partner and company showrooms to provide information on product/service offerings; serving as liaison between clients and sales members on scope of projects and provides follow up for action planning to support business development initiatives.
  • Identifies end-users, designers, and influencers and develops relationships directly and or through distribution partners.
  • Active participation in field sales call activity with territory sales representative as well as sales channel partners directly to end-users and specifiers or influencers.
  • Provides market feedback on competitiveness of product offering to sales leadership team.
  • Increase job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, attending appropriate industry or trade related events.
  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Communicates professionally, effectively, and timely with all internal and external customers.

 

Position Requirements:

 

  • Self-motivated, high energy and an outwardly positive upbeat attitude.
  • Outstanding industry related experience skills; ideally 3-5 years of design, interior furnishings and or construction industry related experience.
  • Outstanding sales experience; a minimum of 5 years of professional selling in contract and conceptual sales.
  • Strong and passionate networking and business development experience with design professionals within market.
  • Strong communication skills
    • Including both listening and presenting skills.
    • Writing skills
    • Presentation skills
  • Strong organization skills with great attention to detail.
  • Ability to work and communicate with influencers at all levels in the sales process, including C-Suite to the facilities and maintenance department.
  • Very strong computer skills including excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook.
  • College degree is desired, not required if candidate has experience to obviate this formal learning requirement.
