Our sustainability roadshow starts on Monday 6th June, and will tour all of our Lancashire based sites. This is a three-week long informative roadshow to bring all of our colleagues up to speed with where we are on our sustainability journey…and where we want to be!
In January 2021 we committed to be carbon net zero by 2030 via Pledge to Net Zero. Our pledge is measured using science based targets, reported via the pledge to net zero website. To achieve this ambitious target, we have relaunched our sustainability strategy with a focus on six key pillars:
Our sustainability strategy is governed by a sustainability steering committee, consisting of the executive leadership team and key senior managers. This team brings together expertise from across the business and monitors progression towards our targets, ensuring that the business achieves key milestones.
This was a fantastic result, however to continue to progress and achieve great things, we need the support and contribution of all of our colleagues.
The Sustainability Roadshow will help us to do just that – ensuring that every single colleague has a chance to be heard, to submit ideas, and to contribute to our carbon net zero journey.
The roadshow will consist of presentations, quizzes, competitions, and ideas schemes that will ensure all of our employees are aware of the benefits of the pledge, the risks of ‘doing nothing’ and the way that they can contribute. In parallel with this, we have also launched an ‘Inspire’ award for the best sustainability solution – this will be one of 6annual ‘Inspire’ awards held in November.

We developed the Sustainability Roadshow so that we could inspire and empower our colleagues. Collaboration is key - our pledge is ambitious, and by working together we will achieve great things.
Check in with us at the end of June to find out how it went!
