We started life as an independent disrupter, and we remain one to this day. Founded by Colin Mustoe in 1976, we began with a firm belief that we could do things better by doing things our way. We believe the same today. Design styles, manufacturing techniques may change but the self-belief remains the same.

We invest in our community, our factories, our machines, our logistics, our products, our green future, but our best investment yet is people. This is the fundamental evolution of our business — we continue to invest and create opportunities for our staff because without them have nothing.

We’re proud of our roots. Established in the North of England — the birthplace of the industrial revolution — this is the place we were born, and it’s the place where we learned our craft. A century of workers, hard workers, has walked this path, we embrace it, and champion it.
