We’re proud of our roots. Established in the North of England — the birthplace of the industrial revolution — this is the place we were born, and it’s the place we learned our craft. A century of workers, hard workers, have walked this path, we embrace it, and champion it, and we strive to protect it.
When we start to thinking of designing a new product, we look at how we can make every detail as energy efficient as possible to help reduce its carbon impact. We try to use recycled and recyclable materials wherever possible in every part of the design, and with Sustain only down the road, we can control every stage of a products life, from using fewer virgin materials right at the very start of production to recycling our old products part by part at the very end.
We're committed to our sustainability targets.
We don’t settle for just re-using and recycling, we make sure that any waste or energy that we create goes back into the system, helping to power our factories and offices. Take for example our wood recycling system, we use the heat and energy from recycling wood chippings and shavings to help heat and power our factories and offices via a sophisticated heating system.
We don’t stop there. We also have our solar panels that we use to help power a wide range of electrical items at our locations, including our fleet of fully electric company cars. We create enough solar power to supply ten family homes with electricity for a full year.

All product packaging is 100% recyclable and we have a system in place for us to reuse as much packaging a reasonably practical. In the past few years, we have reused over 500,000 units of packaging and recycled thousands of tons, diverting it away from landfill. Packaging that gets returned to Sustain never ends up in landfill.
